Mellow Sunlight After Drizzling (雨後天霽) for Piano Solo and Chamber Orchestra is inspired by this February’s weather in Hong Kong. In Chinese we use “雨後天霽”, which means there is always a silver lining in the clouds after raining, as an idiom to say there is always a hope, things will be fine after gloomy times.
Our lives are full of obstacles and problems, but problems always come with more solutions. As long as we do not give up trying, we will eventually find a way to solve them.
Sometimes it might be discouraging when we fail, yet we shall not be afraid of failure, because raining is always followed by sunshine, so as good luck always comes after hardships, just like the Mellow Sunlight After Drizzling.
